Preamble
If you’re interested as to why I picked this deck I refer to my Day1 report :)
Match 1 vs Izzet Skred
A very comfortable matchup for me as Skred tries to play the long game. I expect to be able to play comfortably, build up my mana and eventually overwhelm my opponent with the amount of actions I have.
Game 1 on the play I find Tron turn 4, in the meantime my opponent plays lots of Brainstorms into Lorien cycles and cantrips and a single Terror.
I resolve a Rook Turret and dig through my deck to find redundant combo pieces to play through my opponents counterspells and resolve everything eventually to take game 1.
Game 2 on the draw I find natural Tron and build up my board, my opponent playing conservative and holding up (bluffing) counterspell mana.
He drops a Terror and a Mystic and presents quite a good clock, though in return I cracked several candy trails and resolve a Weather for 12, gaining tons of life to buy me enough time to resolve the combo with a backup Pyroblast in hand.
2-0
Match 2 vs Red Madness
Red is definitely favored here but my mainboard decisions and post-sideboard should give me the edge to hopefully take this match.
Game 1 on the play I find turn 3 Tron and build up my board as my opponent burns me down to 5 life and puts a Fireblast on the stack with a Flamebreather and Guttersnipe on the field, representing lethal.
I respond with a big Weather and my opponent concedes game 1.
Game 2 on the draw
I find turn 3 Tron again and build up some Prisms, my opponent has a fast start yet again and gets me down to 5 life again.
Over the next two turns I resolve a back to back Weather, going up to 35 life and deploy a Fangren Marauder with 2 Candy Trails already on board.
They scoop again in the face of all the lifegain.
2-0
Match 3 vs Red Burn
Game 1 on the draw
My opponent misses some land drops but had a quick start with an Epicure and 2 Tomb Raiders.
I find turn 3 Tron and deploy a Golem Foundry and some artifacts to create some blockers, resolving a big Weather and am able to start beating down on my opponent.
They are forced to use their removal spells on some of the golems lest they lose to it. Sooner or later their creatures are forced to block to protect their life and I win.
Game 2 on the draw
I have turn 3 Tron once again and build up some artifacts as I get burned down to 1 life after having resolved some Flamebreathers.
Later on my opponent exiles a Chain Lightning from the top of their library with a Synthesizer, opting not to play it with one open mana and one card in hand left even though it presents lethal.
I decide against playing my Weather in their end step in order not to risk dying to his last card in hand.
I play some artifacts, cast a Weather the Storm and my opponent reveals and casts a Galvanic Blast to my face with 2 Kessig Flamebreathers on board Luckily I had a 2nd Weather in hand and resolve it, stabilizing the game and following it up with a back to back Fangren Marauder and I take game 2.
2-0

Match 4 - Jund Wildfire (starts @1:53:15)
Finally a Wildfire deck! Since it also tries to play the long game similar to Izzet Skred or Grixis Affinity I can develop my game plan rather comfortably and close out the game with no issues.
Game 1 on the draw
My opponent decides against a Wildfire for one of my Tron lands as I draw naturally into a Power Plant for turn 3 Tron. I drop an early Golem Foundry and follow it up with a Rook Turret in the next turn. I generate tons of value before it gets removed, eventually dropping a second and third Golem Foundry, threatening to overrun my opponent in the upcoming turns. Eventually I draw into my Combo and attempt to go off as my opponent cracks his Spellbomb. I respond with my Blood Fountain to return my Myrs to hand and get caught by a Crypt Incursion. Luckily I had all 4 Retrievers available to me, as I go off for a second time and my opponent gives me the concession.
Game 2 on the draw
Sideboarding is simple; I switch my Makeshift Munitions for an Ancient Grudge.
My opponent decides to Wildfire one of my lands this time before Tron is online to slow me down. I find myself facing down a Chrysalis and 2 Refurbished Familiars that had brought down my hand size to 3 as I could only play eggs and scramble to find Tron, making many Swamp land drops. A Golem Foundry and one of my Myrs get exiled before I can get any value out of them. A 2-turn clock pressures me to find answers, I finally draw a Map on turn 6 finding Tron and have some action to keep my hand stocked up. I am fortunate enough to draw into my combo and can go off next turn, deploying a Blood Fountain as a safety net to prepare against any graveyard hate. My opponent deploys an Okiba Gang Shinobi and I decide to discard my second Retriever since I can get it back with my Fountain. With my last 2 cards in hand being the Altar and a Weather the Storm, I go off to gain an insurmountable amount of life and durdle for a few more turns to find my Golem Foundry and my opponent yet again concedes.
2-0
Match 5 vs Tireless Tribe (starts @2:37:50)
Definitely one of the worst matchups for me as Tribe is so incredibly fast. Post sideboard my odds look significantly better and I mentally prepare myself to attempt to get a 2-1 win for this one.
Game 1 on the draw
My opponent plays the combo on turn 2 and I die. At least I had natural Tron in hand though?
Game 2 on the play
Yet again the Tribe hits the board on turn 2 but no Inside Out to follow it up. I assemble Tron on turn 4 and drop a Makeshift Munitions and am able to remove it. I play tons of eggs and hopefully dig for my Combo before my opponent can rebuild and gain momentum again but am not able to find either my combo pieces or my interaction for his Inside Out.
My Munitions bites the dust with no way to get it back due to a Hydroblast and a backup Dispel that answered my Red Blast.
I once again am facing a Tribe on the board. I feel pretty safe as I have 2 blockers, no Escape Tunnel and only 3 cards in their hand with me chilling at 25 life.
To my misfortune they have a Squadron Hawk to refill their hand and play more cantrips to find their Escape Tunnel and Whiteout all in the same turn, presenting more than enough cards in hand and lands to have lethal and I lose the game.
0-2
Final Thoughts
Of course a huge thanks goes out to the Orga team again for setting up this whole event :). The promos are great, the raffles definitely not rigged and the vibes are amazing. Definitely looking forward to the next Lega day!
